The #1 Minimally Invasive Carpal Tunnel Surgery
SmartRelease® ECTR is a minimally invasive endoscopic approach designed to help surgeons relieve symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome through a small wrist-crease incision. The SmartRelease® platform also supports procedures including cubital tunnel release, trigger finger release, plantar fascia release, and gastrocnemius recession.
- #1 ECTR system among fellowship-trained surgeons performing ECTR
- Pistol-grip handpiece designed for control and precision
- Used in more than 2 million procedures worldwide
- Backed by more than 30 years of surgeon use
Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release
During endoscopic carpal tunnel release, the surgeon makes a small incision in the natural crease of the wrist. The SmartRelease® ECTR device uses a small camera to help the surgeon see inside the carpal tunnel on a video monitor. Guided by this view, the surgeon carefully releases the ligament that is pressing on the nerve — without opening the entire palm. This minimally invasive approach is designed to relieve pressure on the nerve through a smaller incision.
SmartRelease ECTR
The SmartRelease ECTR procedure is highly effective and has been used for more than 30 years.2,3 It results in less postoperative pain, a minimal scar concealed by a wrist crease, and generally allows patients to resume some normal activities in a short period of time.3
Minimally Invasive
The small, approximately 0.5–0.75-inch wrist-crease incision may support quicker healing and less visible scarring.2,3
Fast Recovery
Get back to work and daily activities faster with less postoperative recovery time.3
Over 2M Procedures
With over 2 million procedures performed, SmartRelease has been trusted and used by surgeons for over 30 years.1
Reduced Pain
Results in less postoperative pain, leading to less need for narcotics and recovery time.2,3
Simple and Fast
The procedure is done within minutes and can be performed under local anesthesia.3
Advanced Visualization
The endoscope allows for high-definition visibility, helping surgeons make the release with fewer complications.3
