Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release
MicroAire’s pioneering minimally invasive endoscopic carpal tunnel release system is the industry’s first patented single-portal surgical treatment for CTS.
Supported by more than 20 years of peer review studies and by continuous improvements in technique, SmartRelease ECTR is proven to be just as safe and effective as open procedures; and there are proven patient benefits as well.
SmartRelease ECTR requires only a small incision at the base of the wrist as the entry point for a disposable blade assembly. Once inside, an endoscope provides a clear view of the underside of the transverse carpal ligament and surrounding anatomy. With the disposable blade assembly accurately positioned beneath the transverse carpal ligament, the retractable blade is elevated by a trigger, and the ligament is incised with a few strokes.

The SmartDriver provides over 125 in.oz. of torque and over 1600 RPM of speed to insert K-wires and Steinmann pins up to 3.2mm for fixation. The high-torque drilling and light reaming couplers produce an impressive 31 in. lbs. of torque at 500RPM. The attachments are available for drilling, pinning, reaming, sawing and pulse lavage.
